Watch Out Incumbents

by David Biltek

Based on a few discussions with neophyte candidates the incumbents had best beware, these young guns are coming after you. They are organized, savvy, and experienced. They have ideas and are not afraid to express them

Their election plans are sound and they are financed, maybe not well, but well enough to get the job done.

Rumours…and news

No Wayne Ayling is not running for City Council. “Been there, done that, have the ring. time for new people”

Rory Tarant is announcing his bid for election Thursday August 8th. Rory is home grown talent. In fact year he was born, Dwight Logan also running for Council was Mayor. Rory studied municipal government at University of Lethbridge and recently spent a year as an intern at City of Grande Prairie, which provided him a unique experience and insight into municipal government.

we are still awaiting decisions from many incumbents although rumours are strong that Justin Munroe will NOT run again.

and a question.:
What do you think of slates running for City Council? Three years ago in Peace River an entire slate was elected.and this year we see a slate named Red Deer First running in Red Deer, as well there is a group in St Albert who will be “endorsing” candidates “who care about St Albert”
so what do you think, slates or even political parties in municipal election, good

. bad or simply indifferent?
